uncage your health

What's with the cage?

This is what’s called a ‘TRUE Stretch’. The TRUE stretch is a cage we use to help stretch and move your body. It helps us isolate movements safely and comfortably.

At True Health Osteopathy, we use this equipment to give us an easy way to stretch out your muscles, isolate your movements, and change your movement patterns.

Yes, we’ll admit that the cage looks a little strange at first, but you will see how helpful it is immediately!

Cat ridout

I love educating and helping them feel better through treatments that address your movements causing you pain.

I have a fairly thick Canadian accent (no not American, haha) despite my 10+ years living in Australia. Moved from Melbourne to Geelong)

I love solving puzzles and helping others – to me human movement is the ultimate puzzle. While completing my masters I started asking more and more “Why?”.

Why can two people with the same scan results, the same tight muscles have completely different pain, or one with pain and the other with no pain at all? Understanding how the body works in space (not just when I move someones arm or leg for them) was where I found the answers I was looking for.

At the end of the day finding what is hurting on someone is the easy bit. But discovering “why” their back pain comes on while walking, or why their knee only hurts when going up stairs is so much more important. It helps guide a treatment that focuses on trying to solve that patient’s individual pain. No cookie cutter approaches.

I am always striving to improve and grow as an Osteopath. So you will usually find me studying biomechanics or swinging a golf club

B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) MH SC (Master Of Health Sciences Osteopathy) Victoria University
Completed my five years at Victoria University which included extensive study in anatomy, pathology, physiology, and Osteopathic techniques. Basically learning all the things, I never stop talking about.

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
Spent seven years training in CrossFit and 3 of those years I spent as a CrossFit coach. I loved every minute of being a CrossFit coach. Getting the chance to help tweak movements, cheering members on and reminded members of how capable they were was the best job I could have asked for (before becoming an osteo).

GIFT (Gray Institute Functional Training) 2021
Completed my GIFT (Gray Institute Functional Training) Fellowship. Which is a 40-week mentorship program in Applied Foundational Science specifically designed for Movement Professionals across the globe and it will enable me to serve you better.

GCTE (Graduate Certificate of Tertiary Education) 2022

I have been teaching at Victoria University for the past 5 years. I work in first year college of Biomedical sciences but started teaching 3rd year Osteopathy students Visceral anatomy in my fifth year, prior to graduating.

Currently completing the post graduate certificate GCTE to formalise my teaching credentials.
